Book review#11 Magic Tree House#9 Dolphin at Daybreak

I read the majic tree house series again but I skipped the eight story. I coudn't find it. Maybe some body is reading it.

Jack's dream is to gather all the books but in order to do that, he must be a Master Librarians. It says "You must show that you know how to do research and show that you can find answers to hard questions" by solving riddles. Morgan pulled out a rolled-up paper and on the book it said "Ocean Guide". Now this time, they are going to the ocean.

When they got to the beach, the beach was very beautiful with the white coral reaf skelton. Then they found a mini-submarine. By curiosity, they went inside. Then it started to dive. Somehow, they got the sub into a right vector, they realize the sight they were surrounding was very beautiful. There're so many fishes more than 5,000 kinds. Then Annie found a ship's log. It was written about what they did. At the end it was written that they are defective, means they're broken. They wanted to go back, though they found two eyes starring at them. It was a BIG octopus. And also they was a big hammer head shark too. They were in panic but they were good guys that they didn't actually attack them. Though their sub got broken and started to rise. Now they're left in the middle of the ocean. They might they will be dead while no one will look for them. Although they had a very good luck. The dolphins got swam by. They got a ride back to the beach.

Book review#10 Magic Tree House#7 Sunset of the Sabertooth

This time they went to an ice age to find the "M" thing. When they went to the tree house, they found a book that calls "Life in the Ice Age". The view from the window was full of snow. Now the adventure began. First they went to a cave. This cave was full of animal bones. They got creepy and heard a big animal goar. Jack thought it might be an eight feet tall bear so they ran out from the cave. Then they found another cave. This cave didn't have animal bones but there're some painting on the wall. And also there was coats that made from the fur of the animals and flute made from the mammoth bones. And again, they heard an animal roar. They ran to the outside of the cave but there was a saber-tooth tiger in front of them. They ran back to the tree house but they fell into the hole. The tiger went away but now they have to get out from the hole. Then a men came and threw a rope into the Jack and Annie. They're saved. This man had a mammoth with him like a pet. This men was so kind that he took the kids back to the tree house. Then the saber tooth came again. They got panic even the mammoth did. Some how Annie told Jack to play the flute. Jack thought it was ridiculous but he did so. When the tiger heard it he went away. Annie brought this flute and got a mammoth bone that starts with the letter "M".

Book review#9 Magic Tree House#6 Afternoon on the Amazon

This time I read the sixth story of this Magic Tree House series and the story continues. They went to Amazon. The story before this, htey went to ancient Japan and got a moonstone and again, there was a clue that starts with the letter "m".

When they got to the Amazon, they were at the top of the forest. They went on an adventure if there're any clues. But when they got to the ground they were chased by army ants. Army ants are one of the strongest animal in the jungle because it eats fresh by millions of ants at the same time. Then they got chased by jaguar, crocodile and piranhas. They were in panic but the monkeys saved them and became their freinds. At the end of the story, the monkey gaved them a mango and again they got something that do with "m".

Book review#8 Magic Tree House#5 Night of the Ninja

I read the fifth story of the Magic tree house series. This time they went to ancient japan and met ninja. There’re 3 stories before this book and according to the introduction, it says that this tree house belongs to a woman whose name is Morgan and she travels time and space to gather books. She was a magical librarian from the time of King Arthur. And it seems to be that the tree house won’t be there every time. It appears once in a few days.

This time they went to the tree house and saw a message. It said find 4 things. They didn’t know what it means but soon they realize that it was a message that Morgan was missing. They went to ancient japan to find Morgan. They saw two ninjas and when they were looking at them, they were caught. But the ninjas weren’t bad guys, they were nice. They said they are fighting against Samurai and that samurai have something do with the message.

Book Review#7 Magic Tree House#1 Dinosaurs Before Dawn

From now on I’m going to write about the Magic tree house series as the book reviews. First of all, this Magic Tree House is kind of Magic school bus series. It takes people to the different places and to the different era. The first book I read is the first story about this tree house.

The main character is Jack and Annie. There’re brother and sister and one day they found a tree house that they haven’t seen it before. They climbed up the ladder by curiosity. In the house there was full of books. He took a book on his hand and it was written about prehistoric animals. He wished he could go to that era. Then the tree house began to spin and they were gone to prehistoric era, 65 million years ago. They met a flying dinosaur called Pteranodon and named him Henry. The sister had a talent to talk to the dinosaur. They became friends. Then they also met Triceratops and Anatosauruses. They watched them very carefully but they saw a T-Rex coming. They ran to the tree house and tried to go back to the normal era but it was useless. This is because he forgot his books. He sneaked to get back the books from getting unknowed from T-Rex but the way back to the tree house he got founded. Soon the sister talked to Pteranodon to help his brother. This flying dinosaur flew straight forward to Jack and rescued him. Now they could get back to their own era.

I recommend this book because it’s very easy to read and not too long. I could read it in 20 minutes or so.

Book Review#6 Magic school bus Inside a hurricane

This time they are learning about weather. Their field trips are so strange that when they study about human body, they go into the human body. So this time they will go into a hurricane. First the bus changed into a hot air balloon so that they could study about the hot air rises which concerns to the weather a lot. They have traveled five hundred miles and got to one of the world’s hurricane breeding place. They have gone all the way to the equator. The class flew into the hurricane and the balloon sprung a leak and began to fall so they jumped out from the ship. Now they’re like doing sky diving but the clouds surrounding them were full of bolts and lighting. They thought it would be all over but the plane appeared and now they’re all right except Arnold. This is the ridiculous part of this story that the teacher knew when Arnold couldn’t come back, Ms. Frizzle, marked his absent and said he would be all right. He fell all the way down and got saved by the fishing boat.

Book review #5 The magic school bus Explore the Senses

I read the magic school bus again and again. This time we're going to the senses of the people. I think it really looks like the one that I read before. Well, this is what this book says.

First of all, the main character I think, won't drive the school bus and the assistant priciple will drive it. They'll go after the car that the main charcter drives. And while they were chasing, the assistant principle pushed a button and then the bus began to shrink.

Then the bus swallowed into an officers eye. They went through the nerves and to the brain and came back from the other eyeball. After they adventured the offiicers head, they jumped to a boy's ear. Again, they adventured into the inner ear and the auditory nerve and again to the head. Then they jumped into a dog's nose. Discusting!! I can't believe it!! As they came, they went through the smell nerve and jumped into a water glass that Ms. Frizzle will drink.

Well, as you may think, they were eated by there own teacher. They adventured her tough and went through the nerve and to the brain again.

Book review #4 Magic school bus; lost in the solar system

I read the magic school bus series again. I think I'll read all of the seires that our library has.

At this story they're going to the planetarium as a trip day. But when they get there, it was closed. On the way back, the bus tilted back and the they heard the engine roaring. They were going through the atmosphere. The earth was getting smaller and smaller. First they stopped at the moon and played around. Then they went to the sun. They said that the sun was hot. I think everybody knows that. Next they went to Mercury. This planet was dead. It was sun baked planet. Then they got pulled to the Venus. This planet was covered with yellowish cloudwhich is called sulfuric acid. Under the cloud it was like a desert and hot. As they came close to the Mars, In this planet, its so big that the canyon is long as United States and the volcano is three times tall as earth. Next they went to Jupiter and Saturn but jupiter is made of gas so there is no land. saturn is one of the most beautiful plant and it is famous for the ring. This ring is made from rock, ice and dust. And finally then went through Uranus and Pluto and came back to earth.

Book review #3 Magic school bus inside the body

I read the magic school bus series again. This time, we’ll go inside the human body.

At the beginning of the story the class room teacher propose to study about “ourselves”. They tried to go to a museum for the trip. Though they took their lunch at the park. And they were time to go and everybody got in the bus Arnold, one of the student were daydreaming and was eating a snack. At once, the bus started to shrink and was going down a dark tunnel. They were going under esophagus. Soon they dropped to the stomach. Ms. Frizzle drove the bus to the bottom of the stomach and then they got absorbed to intestine. At the intestine, it was covered with villi. In the villi, they are tiny blood vessels. They went through this blood vessel to the heart, lung, brain, spinal bone and to the muscle. During the drive, they were attacked by Arnold’s white blood cell. When they were running they got to a huge open space. They were in Arnold’s nose. Suddenly they heard a deafening sound like “Ah-aa-aa-ah!!” Then they heard “Choooo!!” They blast from his nose as a sneeze.

They got back from Arnold’s body and met again. They said “Where were you!?” at the first moment.

BR ②Majic school bus and the Electric Field trip

I read The Majic school bus series again. And this time, the books sub title is "The electric field trip". Let me tell you about it.

At the beginng pf the story, Ms. Fizzle's niece visited class. Ms. Fizzle is the main character and the teacher and the driver of the school bus. And then, they started to explain about the electricity. First of all everything in the world are made from atom. And these tiny parts of the atom are called "electron". Then, when the electron travel to another electron, we call it electricity and you get power.

In this story, they will became a electricity. They will study how electricity will be made and how they will come to our outlet. First, they went to a fuel buring plant and shrinked into coal chute. After they burn the coal, they went to the steam pipe. They traveled very fast becaused of the high pressure. Then they flew through the turbine's blade and to the generator. Now they are 24,000 volts and travel through the electric wire and to the houses. By the time they got to the peoples houses, they got into 220 volts. They traveled to many many electric product and came back to school by been electricity.

I think this book was interesting too. It wrote about what you should do at the lighting storm. From the book, it says DON'T stay outside. DON'T use the telephone. DON'T use electric appliance. And finally, DON'T go near the water.

I read the book call "The magic school bus; inside a beehive". This majic school series is very interesting and you can know many thing. The contents may be difficult but its written in easy english.

This school bus is very intereting. It can transform to a space ship, plane and submarine. And can also shrink so tiny so this bus can go inside the human body or can even go to space or undersea. In this book this school bus transformed to a bee and went to a beehive. They transform and go everywhere like a school excursion.

The story begins in a perfect spring day. They were studying about insects and decide to observe about honey bee. They shrink to a bee and worn a costume like a bee. They pretend to be a bee and hike to this bee hive. This book also tells about many various thing that concern with bees. For example, bees communicate by dance and smells.

Its very intersting and you can know many thing and I like this series.

BR 2-12: The story of flying

I read a book that calls "The story of flying". It tells about the history of planes. People wanted to fly thousands of years ago. The first plane was drewed in 1487 in Italy. Leonard da Vinci wrote it but never had been built. Until the Wright brothers invent the plane, many many people tried to fly. Some people made a wing like a bird and tried to flap. As the technology progress some inventor had a steam engine on it but never flyed. Finally on December 17, 1903, the Wright brothers flew. They challenged and crashed many times. I believe they should be very happy when they could flyed. Soon many people started building planes. In 1909, the first air show has been held in France. 38 planes took part of the show but only 23 of them could take off. In those day they had competition to see who can fly the highest, longest and fastest. The first prize for the non-stop flying was 180km. He flewed for 3 hours. The fastest plane flew 45km per hour. In those days it was very incredible.

In this book, it is also wrote about helicopters. The first helicopter only waas in the air for 20 second and didnIt even rised as high as a man. In 1940 the first helicopter called "R4" and used by U.S. navy in world war 2. Now, helicopters are used in armies, police and used to trasport sick person to the hospital. The biggest helicopter is called "Skycrane". It's half helicopter and the other half is a crane. It's strong enough to lift trains or truck and strong enough to lift a house.

Today, people had been gone to space and walk at the moon. And there're people living in the space. The technology has been improved in a century. It is still expensive to go to space. But some day, we may go to space as a luxury trip.

I recommend this book because it tells about plane's history in easy english. If you like planes, you may like it. It is a little long book but it's not so hard to read. As reading this story the most suprising part is the part of the skycrane. I don't think the skycrane is in somewhere in Kumamoto or in Japan but if I have a chance, I want to see it. But possible, I want to see it carrying house.

BR 2-11:Animal Legend

This book is very funny. First I thought this book will tell us the truth. But it's full of joke. In this book, it tells about why cats chases rats and why monkeys live in trees. It also tells about rabbit and crocodile but this part, you read it.

First I want to write about why cats chases rats. It's very famous that cats chases rats. As you can see in the anime "Tom and Jerry". Everybody knows that it's just a food chain. But in this book it tells such a ridculous thing. It tells that long long time ago, cats and rats used to be a best friends. Did you know that!? According to this book, it says cat and rat lived happily together on an island. The island had all they needed. There were birds for the cats to chase. And plenty of juicy plants for rat to nibble with her sharp front teeth. There was only one problem. There wasn't much else to do. Most days they were bored. Then one moring, the rat had an idea to look for somewhere else to live. The cat agreed to the idea. They had an idea to make a boat from the trunk of a tree. The rat gnawed at a tree until the tree can timber. Then the cat scratched inside of the trunk so they could sit. They rowed and rowed for a long time. The cat felt tired so the he fell asleep. The rat felt hungry and realised that she forgot to bring some foods. While the cat was sleeping, the rat ate the side of the boat. Soon the water started to slosh up through the hole and started to sink. After the boat sant they had to swim back to the island. As you can see cats doesn't like to get wet. So the cat get very angry and splutted to eat the rat. After the rat get to the shore, she digged a hole and ran into it. The cat will sit in front of the hole until the rat appears.

The expression that impressed me was "That is why, today, a cat will sit for hour upon hour , waiting to prounce on a rat".(P.15 L5~L8) It's the scene you can see in the anime "Tom and Jerry". I could imagine this scene every easily . Even though I haven't seen it in my life. So if I have a chance I want see it.

Finally I want to write why monkeys live in trees. Many years ago king of the jungle was gorilla. This gorilla had a daughter and all of the animal wanted to marry her. But she couldn't choose who to marry. Then gorilla found a barrel with a water tastes fire. He had an idea to test the other animal if they could drink the whole barrel. If the animal could drink the whole barrel of fire water, the gorrila would let him marry her. First, the elephant came challenged. He sucked up the fire water and sneezed and sprayed water everywhere. Secondly, the hippo came and took a big mouthful of fire water and chocked. Next the warthog and leopard challenged but either of them failed. Finally a tiny monkey appeared and challenged. All the animal wondered how can this tiny monkey could drink all the barrel of fire water. First the monkey gulped a large mouthful of fire water and an into the bushes. After a few moment the monkey came back and gulp of fire water and again ran into the bushes. They had a secret behind the bushes. Benhind the bushes, a whole tribe were finding and each monkey will drink the fire water in turns. By the end of the day, the monkey drank the all of the fire water. Finally the monkey was allowed to marry but suddenly the giraffe shouted. "The monkey cheated!!" "His friend helped him!!" The monkeys ran off to the trees. Monkeys have been living upon the trees ever since.

The expression that I was impressed is "The barrel was full of greasy water. Naresh(The name of the gorrila) took a sip. It tasted of fire. Fire water? he said, That might be useful".(P19 L5~L8) I wonder what is in the barrel and how does it tastes.

This book tells about what is dinosaur. dinosaur is one of reptiles like crocodiles and lizards. They had scaly skins, thick and strong powerful tail crawls. Slim and light dinosaur walked with 2 legs and heavy one walks with 4 legs.

They ate many diffrent things like other dinosaur, plants, fish, insect and other small animal like mamals. Their reptiles so they were bored from an egg. That was interesting. And they died becaused of the meteor.

Finally did you know that the color of the dinosaur are random??

BR 2-09: Horses and Ponies

This book is written about horses and Ponies. The diffrence between horses and ponies is the size, said the book. The "big" horses are horse and "small" horses are poines. When I heard this I was very disappointed. I totally though there was a clear diffrence between two of them. The diffrence was just the size.

The book also written about the ecolgy about the horses and ponies. These animal don't like to live their own. So they make a herd. If one of the horse starts to run, all the herd will run away. That's way they can be safer then living on their own. When they run, there's an each name for their running. When they run very fast it's called galloping. When they run slowly, it's called cantering. When they jog, it's called trotting. When they walk, it's called walking. Finally they can comunicate with each other.

Horses and Ponies are very friendly animal. When you get trusted from horses, they can let you touch. Wild horses won't of course let you touch. (174 words)

BR 2-08: Under the sea

This book tells animals which lives under the sea. This book explains the detail very short and but it's easy to read. It's easy because the book uses only easy english so you can understand the difficult words. And also the book is made very rough. There're many kinds of sea animals but this book only tells eleven things. If you here this, you may think it's ridiculous but this book tells the almost all the matter you may think about sea animals. This book tells about Dolphins, Sharks, Jelly fish, Penguins. The most interesting part that I felt was the page that tell about Dragons and Horses.

Don't you feel what's dragons and horses that lives in the sea? If you think so read the book!

BR 2-07: Babe Pig in a City

This is a story about a pig name Babe. He's a pig but not just only a pig, he's a "sheeppig". He is strong enough to win at a shepherding contest because he could "talk" to sheeps. He's kind so sheep will listen what to do and where to go. As you can see, he's very clever pig.

This story will start after they won the shepherding contest. His master, Hoggett was repairing the well but he caught into an acciddent because of Babe. So his wife has to all the duties in the farm. But they were facing foreclosure. So Ms.Hoggett decide to appearance at a fair that helds far far away to earn some money. Unfortunatly on the way to the city, Babe was detain at the airport. Just because the bomb-sniffing dog wanted a reward. so they had to stay at a unfamiliar town. There was only one hotel that can stay with a pet so they were forced to stay there but soon they were got separated. In the hotel there's a weird clown with a chimpanzees and orangutan.

This book is about main character, Gerald who is the youngest boy and lives on the Greek island of Corfu. They moved from England. The story is about his happy childhood for five years. All the member of his family are strange. Gerald will collects many kinds of animal like bugs, fish,dogs and snakes. He'll bring them back to his house. His mother is enthuses too much to cook. His brothers are plays around with guns. His sister applies perfumes a lot so she has to cure the pimples. As you can see they do what ever they want to do make a big fuss.



I recommend this book because this story is funny and interesting. The sentence are all full of humore.

The main character, Eric was parasailing over Jurassic park. But the boat was attacked by dinosaur from the sea and the bost sank. He was forced to land to the Jurassic park. After he landed, he had to survive by himself. His parent soon realised that they couldn't hear from Eric so they determined to look for him. by the time they reached to the park, they were many dinosaur like Spinosaurus which can beat T-rex. Can they find Eric and escape from the park?

I recommend this book. There isn't difficult words so it's easy to read. But I couldn't be excited as I was watching the movie.

BR 2-04: Jurassic Park ~The Lost World~

This story is the second part of Jurassic park. Six years ago the dinosaurs were destroyed and the Jurassic park was closed. But now the scientist are looking for dead animals again. There were many dead dinosaurs every where. So they decided to go to Site B. But Site B is called the 5 deaths. Why site B is called the 5 deaths?

I do recommend this book to whose like Jurassic psark series. But this story is diffrent from the movie. In the movie, the T-rex which ran away from the troopship raged in San Diego. But there isn't any big show in this story. In this case, I didn't satisfied. But you may enjoy another kind of story.
